Who are Regen Advocates?

Regen Advocates are activists who pay attention to the regenerative aspects of our activity. They seek opportunities and mobilize others to connect and regenerate. They also listen to others' needs and new ideas. They bravely invent new regenerative practices. They are the vanguard of the change we all want to be. We call for Regenerative Cultures Advocates in every group and every team.

We hope Regen Advocates join forces and organize themselves into a flat network of many local networks and local hubs. We are trying to build space, opportunities, and conditions for that to happen. We are making suggestions on what you could do, but we are also aware that you may choose to do things differently. You may have much better ideas than we have. Let us know about them! You can contact us: XR.RegenAdvocates@protonmail.com.

    Regen Advocate Guide

This guide is aimed at helping new and seasoned rebels to learn more about Regenerative Cultures. You can either choose what you would like to learn from the table of content below or work your way through the document from start to finish. It is a living document, and we hope for your insight and contribution.

Our 3rd Principle says that regenerative human cultures are healthy, resilient, and adaptable. They care for the planet and they care for life, aware that this is the most effective way to create a thriving future for all of humanity.

To save our planet we need to start with ourselves. We need to save ourselves from the insanity of the self-destructive civilization we grew up in. We need to build regenerative cultures within our movement. That means constantly changing, evolving… and struggling with all the toxic patterns we once embraced. As our principle says: regenerative cultures mean improvements year on year, taking small steps to heal and improve, and on all levels, including individuals, communities, our soil, water, and air.

    Regen Activities and Practices

We have been collecting Regen Practices and Activities we can use in our groups. We hope they can be a tool for regenerative cultures. They may help icebreaking, building connections, creating mutual trust and care within the group. They may also help to debrief, relax and regenerate. They may become community habits.

We would like to thank all activists who have contributed to the collection so far: Deirdre (XR Ireland), Sinéad (XR Ireland), Chelsea (France), Dayna (USA), Monique (South Africa), Ami (California), Elana, Michael (North of Scotland), Melanie (aka animel or melmatters), Gabriel, Morgan (Baltimore MD), Lizz (West Norfolk UK), Babu (XR Gambia), Mcusi, XR Massachusetts, Debs and Stu (XR UK) … . 🤍

If you have your proposal or suggestions, please send the description to XR.RegenAdvoctes@protonmail.com with ‘Regen Activity’ in the subject. We are looking for activities that rebels can learn and practice (we will not be accepting activities that connect to websites that feature payment options).

    Regen Advocate Network Manual

Regen Advocates pay attention to the regenerative aspects of our activities. They seek opportunities and mobilize others to connect and regenerate. They listen to others' needs and new ideas. They bravely invent new regenerative practices. They are the vanguard of the change we want to be. We call for Regenerative Cultures Advocates in every group.

The origins of the Regen Advocate role are rooted in working groups. You can read about it here. But we ask why only working groups? Why not in every group and every team, even those created ad hoc for one action? Different from the original document, we don’t want to centralize coordination.

We hope Regen Advocates join forces and organize themselves into a flat network of many local networks and local hubs. We are trying to build space, opportunities, and conditions for that to happen. We are making suggestions on what you could do, but we are also aware that you may choose to do things differently.
